Medical Aid in Dying (MAID) - Considered in U.S. Congress

Surgeon and North Carolina Congressman Greg Murphy has introduced the latest in a long line of U.S.Congressional resolutions opposing MAID. 

But because MAID is a state law matter, it is unclear how relevant federal law is:

• There is already no federal constitutional right to MAID.
• There is already no federal funding of MAID.

On the other hand:

• Congress has repeatedly tried to repeal the D.C. Death with Dignity Act.
• Lawsuits in the Second, Third, Seventh, Ninth, and Tenth Circuits argues that MAID laws violate the ADA and federal Constitutional protections.
