Disability groups unsuccessfully challenged the California End of Life Option Act. Their appeal is now paused in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Meanwhile, they have filed an identical lawsuit challenging the Colorado EOLOA. (D. Colo. No. 1:25-cv-02014).
United Spinal Association, Not Dead Yet, Institute for Patients' Rights, Atlantic Adapt, and Mary Grossman allege: "Assisted suicide under EOLOA violates federal disability rights laws and the federal constitutional guarantees of due process and equal protection."
