The New York Times printed an obituary today for Pat Koch Thaler, sister to famed New York City mayor Ed Koch. She ingested MAID medications on Saturday.
Thaler said that she paid Compassionate Care Services NJ $6,000 for end-of-life consultations and $900 for the lethal medication. She took the powdered medication mixed in apple juice under a doctor’s supervision at 11 a.m. She was pronounced dead at 4:58 p.m.
While U.S.MAID deaths take longer than MAID deaths in other countries that use IV administration, six hours is longer than average.
