Almost six years ago, the German Federal Constitutional Court recognized the fundamental right to end one's own life freely and responsibly, and to receive assistance in doing so. But there is still no implementing legislation or regulation.
Last week, the 75th German Lawyers' Conference (DJT) in Erfurt advocated for a legal framework for assisted suicide. They are also calling for a legal framework supporting VSED advance directives.
