Increasingly, around the world, when individuals die from Voluntarily Stopping Eating and Drinking (VSED), that is mentioned in their obituaries. This week, we see this notice from Robert G. Holbrook, Jr.
"He fought it valiantly but in 2024 he suffered a debilitating stroke which left him unable to express his creative soul. With zero quality of life, he eventually... very courageous decision to end his earthly journey with VSED, voluntarily stopping eating and drinking."
As the public sees more VSED cases mentioned in the media, in books, and in films; this option becomes normalized and more widely available.
