Euthanasia Is Part of Thoughtful End-of-Life Care Plans

Commentators have long compared human end-of-life care to animal end-of-life care. But these comparisons continue to elucidate underlying principles.

This recent coverage of the Denver Zoo shows how euthanasia is a thoughtful part of end-of-life care. For example, Denver Zoo's Animal Care and Health teams exhausted measures to keep 32-year-old black rhino Rudy comfortable. They turned to euthanasia only when his quality of life continued to decline.

  1. That's not true about assisted suicide/euthanasia and you know it. No law even requires it.
