On Monday, French Senators voted against the right to MAID after a long afternoon of debate (video). Caught between a left wing denouncing the text as too restrictive and a right wing hostile to any legislative change, the compromise proposed by the two rapporteurs failed to gain traction. The continuation of the second reading of the bill on end-of-life care now appears to be in jeopardy.
