This pretty little timeline from EOLWA nicely summarizes the chronology of fourteen jurisdictions where medical aid in dying (MAID) has been authorized in the United States.
My own legal histories of U.S. MAID are not so pithy (here and here and here).
What this timeline does not show is that almost all these jurisdictions have subsequently amended their laws at least once. In other words, the track record from other states shows that enacting a MAID statute is only the first step. As experience is gained and evidence gathered, laws are almost always later changed to improve patient access.
