Health Canada has published its 6th annual report on MAID in Canada. It details 22,535 reports of MAID requests in 2024. Of these, 16,499 people received MAID.
This is over ten times higher than MAID in the United States. While California has the same population as Canada, only 1591 California patients received MAID prescriptions in 2024. But California access will likely improve as the state considers statutory amendments and builds better implementation pathways.
