Texas Advance Directives Act - Annual Report on Potentially Inappropriate Treatment

The Texas Advance Directives Act was enacted in 1999. But only in the past two years did the law require hospitals to report when they use TADA dispute resolution sections. The latest report from the Texas Health & Human Services Commission shows very low usage.

Only two ethics or medical committee meetings were held. One patient was transferred. Zero patients died because life-sustaining treatment was withheld or withdrawn after expiration of the time period.
