The Completed life Initiative is opening Sanctuary in southern Vermont, in 2026. The Sanctuary offers a quiet space for eligible adults with a terminal illness to access medical aid in dying (MAID) in accordance with Vermont state law.
The Sanctuary makes quality end-of-life care accessible to all terminally ill patients and their families, regardless of income. Sanctuary simplifies the complex and often burdensome journey to access medical aid in dying, so that patients can focus on what really matters: spending time with their loved ones.
Similar houses are available for MAID and VSED patients in Seattle and other places. And there are networks of private homes offered for such purposes on an ad hoc basis.

Wonderful
ReplyDeleteThis is the kind of info that should come up as often as possible. Maid is no help if you are too sick or alone to manage the six ring circus required to access it. I wouldd say their needs to be a ficilitator network. to actually make MAID work even in the states with legislation already in place. otherwise it is just passive aggressive eyewash for folks on fixed incomes.
