Assisted Suicide is Ethical: Christ's Example

I've read and watched lots of discussion and debate on medical aid in dying. But the title of this new dissertation captured my attention. Physician Frank Barham just submitted a dissertation to Drew University for a Doctor of Medical Humanities titled Assisted Suicide is Ethical: Christ's Example.

Barham writes: "We have seen throughout this work the many reasons given by respected writers who argue against suicide but apparently have never considered Christ’s death an assisted suicide. I propose we examine certain aspects of Christ’s death as I see it fitting into a common model of morally acceptable suicide."
