In this circumspect article, ABC News Australia explores "What voluntary assisted dying options are available for those with dementia?" It notes that while Australians cannot get MAID/VAD in Australia. While they can get MAID/VAD in Switzerland, that requires them to proceed too early when they still have capacity.
In new paper that I will present at Harvard Law in a few days, I outline all twelve death hastening options for those with dementia. In addition to MAID and VSED are MAID and VSED by advance directive, and MAID and VSED by surrogate. This builds off my presentation for the Hemlock Society of San Diego.
