This Washington Examiner story explains that the pro-life movement has been more successful in focusing on beginning of life rather than on end of life issues. "Christian bioethicists and activists fear there’s been a lack of progress, or even lost ground, in medical care for vulnerable patients in dire cases."
The main example of their loss is the expansion of medical aid in dying across the United States and the world. But pro-life groups seem to have made progress in other realms. For example:
- More states have enacted massively broad rights for healthcare workers to assert conscience based objections.
- More states have enacted Simon Laws prohibiting withholding or withdrawing life-sustaining treatment without parental consent.
- More states have implemented other restrictions on limiting life-sustaining treatment.
