Pope Francis' Advance Directive

The last time I was in Rome in June 2023, I stayed a few days near the hospital where Pope Francis was being treated. There was significant media gathered outside the hospital (as you can see at the top of this hill overlooking the hospital).  

Recently, Pope Francis has again been in this hospital for double pneumonia and periodically dependent on mechanical ventilation. Some commentators are raising questions about the Pope's end-of-life wishes and peculiar constraints set by Catholic Church policies.
