Brain Death - Confusion & Uncertainty in Uganda

Ugandan MP Muhammad Ssegirinya died earlier this month. But the timing and determination of his death was the subject of some controversy (e.g., here & here & here). Ssegirinya was determined dead on neurological criteria (brain dead).  

But the status of brain death as legal death is not well established in Uganda. So, some government representatives reported that Ssegirinya was not dead (only brain dead) while others reported that he was dead.
