In a new California lawsuit, physician Gerardo Canedo alleges that Victor Valley Hospital fired him in retaliation for opposing a plan to extubate a patient with acute hypoxic respiratory failure.
Canedo alleges that the hospital's Chief Nursing Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and Director of Critical Care "wanted to extubate the patient, which would have caused the patient's death, to avoid paying for uncompensated care."
