Last year, I explained why all adults should supplement their written advance directive with a video advance directive. The practice is getting some uptake.
Clinical ethicist Eric Mathison confirms the value of video in some of his own recent cases. "When he lost capacity, his family was initially skeptical of the paper advance directive, but they were convinced by the video." Mathison also astutely cites the important TRIAD research.
