Texas Court of Appeals Imposes Fast Briefing Schedule in NIck Torres Brain Death Case

Bravo to the Texas Fourteenth Court of Appeals for setting a fast briefing schedule in Torres v. Texas Children's Hospital. 

This is important. Brain death cases in other courts have dragged on for months and months, costing hospitals millions of dollars and depriving seriously ill children of access to pediatric ICUs.

  • Tuesday, October 6, 2020 by 12:00 noon: The reporter’s record must be filed.
  • Tuesday, October 6, 2020 by 5:00 pm: Appellant’s brief to be filed with this court.
  • Wednesday, October 7, 2020 by 12:00 noon: Appellee’s response to be filed with this court.
  • Wednesday, October 7, 2020 by 3:00 pm: Appellant’s reply, if any, to be filed with this court.
  • Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at 5:00 pm: This case will be submitted to this court on the briefs before a three-justice panel.

    They are not dead, they are neurologically disabled persons,
    American disability ACT protect the rights of these persons.
