Nona Wilson is a retired Intensive Care Unit and Emergency Department registered nurse/hospital administrator. In a recent article, she provides advice on how to make your advance directive effective. Among other things, she recommends supplementing it with a video.
"Video-recording a personal message about your wishes can enhance their actual impact on your end-of-life experience. A video lends immediacy and an authentic tone that can be far stronger than any signed and witnessed form."
I agree and have recently offered some evidence for the value of video advance directives. I will expand on my SMU Law Review article in an upcoming presentation for QUT Law.
