GOP Convention Mentions Charlie Gard, Medical Futility, and Medical Aid in Dying

Awkwardly, both medical aid in dying and medical futility made an appearance at the GOP Convention. 

It is awkward because these are state law matters that lie outside the jurisdiction of the President or federal government. Twenty years ago, the federal government tried to meddle with state regulation of these matters. But that was rebuffed by the U.S. Supreme Court.
