Brain Death Conflict in Michigan - 3rd High Profile Case in Past Year

DeVonte Andrews, 18, was shot four times in a drive-by shooting in Detroit. But his mother claimed that his condition was improving despite doctors at Ascension St. John Hospital declaring him brain dead.

The case was starting to look like other drawn-out court conflicts over brain dead teens (Bobby Reyes and Titus Cromer) in Michigan hospitals over the past year. But the family apparently acquiesced to withdrawing organ-sustaining treatment after a week.
