Carter v Canada - Five Year Anniversary

Today is the fifth anniversary of the Supreme Court of Canada judgment in Carter v. Canada. This landmark decision held that prohibiting assisted suicide is contrary to the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. The case compelled Parliament to legislate medical aid in dying (Bill C-14) in June 2016.
