Charlie Gard's Parents On Keeping Their Son's Legacy Alive With Charlie's Law

Charlie Gard's parents, Chris Gard and Connie Yates, just marked the second anniversary of their son's death. Charlie died on July 28, 2017, following a protracted legal campaign which saw him pick up support from people around the world.

Gard and Yates were on Lorraine to talk about Charlie's Law, an initiative which aims to both create awareness of mitochondrial disease and to help prevent parents and doctors ending up in court over the removal of life support. As discussed in my editorial in the Journal of Medical Ethics (about which the Gards wrote me), I support this legislation.
