Brain Death Religious Exemptions - Three Cases Seeking Constitutional Rights

While there were were five or more North American lawsuits, this year, seeking religious exemptions from brain death, now there are only two.

This month, the Ontario Court of Justice has dismissed the case of Shalom Ouanounou not only because he has since died per cardiopulmonary criteria but also because the same issues are already being presented in the Taquisha McKitty case.

The Taquisha McKitty case is scheduled for appellate oral argument before the Ontario
Court of Appeal on December 12, 2018.

The Israel Stinson case is scheduled for appellate oral argument before the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit on January 14, 2019.
