This is a brief excerpt from "The Truth about End of Live Choices." Here, Rodney Syme recommends using an advance directive declining spoon feeding as a way to avoid late stage dementia. I outlined the same approach in a recent video for the Hemlock Society of San Diego.
On Sunday 11 November 2018, five hundred people gathered at North Sydney Leagues Club to hear Andrew Denton in conversation with a panel of eminent health professionals as they discussed the reality of end of life care in Australia and the choices we face when we die.
This important forum was co-hosted by Dying with Dignity NSW, Voluntary Euthanasia Party NSW, Go Gentle Australia, Doctors for Assisted Dying Choice and Christians Supporting Choice for Voluntary Euthanasia. The panellists included Dr Rodney Syme, Dr David Leaf, Dr Jill Gordon, Nurse Coral Levett and Jan and Jessica Edwards.
