For several years, I have been following a tip from the California Medical Association by using the first clip below from The Wizard of Oz to illustrate the importance of certainty and clarity in determining death by neurological criteria.

More recently, I have started using the second clip below to illustrate how conceptual gaps in brain death are being increasingly exposed not only in the academic literature but also in courts and other formal policy forums.
