Constitutional Challenge to Minnesota Assisted Suicide Statute

In upholding the conviction of Final Exit Network, the Minnesota appellate courts (in 2016 and 2017) appear to have extended the criminal prohibition against "assisting" another to take his life. The prohibition covers even mere speech.

In a new federal lawsuit, FEN argues that interpretation violates the First Amendment. A hearing on the State's motion to dismiss is scheduled for November 29.
