What Does It Mean to Die?
Rachael Aviv has a careful and comprehensive review of the Jahi McMath case in today's The New Yorker. It includes a few quotes from me.
"When Jahi McMath was declared brain dead by the hospital, her family disagreed. Her case challenges the very nature of existence."
The author of this article issued a correction regarding an earlier version. She said the statement that Nailah had a DNR order in Jahi's medical record was false. Apparently, if Jahi's heart were to stop, Nailah wants a full code called.
