N.Y. Hospital Nearly Took Organs from Living Woman

Doctors at St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center in Syracuse, New York were about to remove organs for transplant from Colleen S. Burns, 41, whom they thought was dead.  Then she opened her eyes. She was alive.

Burns had been in a deep coma from taking an overdose of drugs. Hospital personnel failed both to wait long enough and to conduct enough tests to determine death.  (CMS ReportModern Healthcare; Syracuse Post-Standard)

  3. Brain death is not real death. Just like Colleen Burns, many patients diagnosed with so-called "brain death" have later revived and walked out of hospital (www.OrganFacts.net).

Zach Dunlap, a 21 year old Oklahoma man, was "feeling pretty good" four months after he was diagnosed as "brain dead". Zach suffered severe brain injuries in a quad bike accident in Texas in 2007. He was declared "brain dead" and prepped for organ donation, only to revive just before surgery.

Steven Thorpe, 17 year old Warwickshire youth, was declared "brain dead" by four doctors in 2008, but his parents did not give up on him, and insisted on another opinion from an independent GP and a neurosurgeon. Steven made an unexpected recovery and left hospital alive seven weeks later.

Rae Kupferschmidt, 65 year old Minnesota woman, suffered a massive cerebral haemorrhage in 2008 and doctors diagnosed her as "brain dead". She was taken home to die, but later revived at home.

Gloria Cruz, 56 year old Northern Territory woman, was declared "brain dead" in 2011 and expected to 'die' within 48 hours. But her husband refused to remove the life support and 3 days later, Gloria revived, awoke from her coma and later went home.

These and many other survivor cases prove that "brain death" is a medical fallacy, invented to allow organ harvesting from living patients. More facts at : www.OrganFacts.net.
