Kentucky H.B. 510 advanced from committee yesterday. It addresses what clinicians must do when an organ donor exhibits signs of life after already being determined dead on neurologic or circulatory criteria.
It's prudent to specify these rules. And the Supreme Court of Mississippi is engaged in a similar task right now. But it seems regrettable that the false positive rate is such that we need to have policies and procedures for this situation.

Sadly, this is exactly why I cannot and will not be an organ donor.
