In this video, Faye Girsch discusses VSED with a man whose wife recently used VSED.
The couple moved from their ALF to a bed and breakfast to undertake the process. The patient had a expert medical team which her husband observes cost $25,000. And that was with a relatively short VSED process of only 5 days.

ReplyDeleteI really appreciate Faye interviewing the husband and recording the video and sharing it w/everyone. I would like to add that VSED doesn't have to be so costly (i.e., $25K). The husband mentioned that he paid for round the clock RN's for 5 days at an Airbnb. IMHO, that was overkill--no pun intended. I've worked with 8 VSED clients as an End of Life Doula and none of them necessitated round the clock RNs.
