U.S. Government End-of-Life Policy

Compassion & Choices both tracks and influences policy on end-of-life issues at the state and federal levels. This week, they offered a terrific summary of initiatives before Congress and federal agencies. 

These include possible amendments to ASFRA, advance care planning coverage, telehealth, and much more. Encouragingly,  the DC Death with Dignity Act should survive House Appropriations bills to undo it. Republicans failed in this effort when they had an even wider majority. So, they are even more likely unsuccessful with a slimmer majority.
