With law
and neurology colleagues, I published two articles, in the past few weeks, that
propose a Revised Uniform Determination of Death Act, the RUDDA. The shorter
article is in the Annals
of Internal Medicine. The longer article is in the Journal
of Law, Medicine and Ethics.
This week,
we began a dialogue on the RUDDA in the Hastings
Bioethics Forum. Franklin Miller and Michael Nair-Collins criticize our
proposal here.
