Do You Believe in Miracles? Your Patients Do. You Sexy Thing.

Alexia Torke and colleagues recently published a study that found 59 percent of surrogate decision makers believed a miracle might save the patient.

The authors concluded: "Few religious variables are associated with end-of-life preferences or treatment. Belief in miracles and intrinsic religiosity may affect treatment and should be identified and explored with surrogates by trained chaplains or other clinicians with appropriate training."
