Barts Health NHS Trust vs. Tafida Raqeeb - Another Charlie Gard, Alfie Evans Case

Hearings in the matter of 5-year-old Tafida Raqeeb begin, today, before Mr. Justice MacDonald in the UK High Court.

 Barts Health NHS Trust seeks a judicial declaration that a transfer to Italy for aggressive intervention is not in Tafida's best interest. 

 In February 2019, clinicians determined that she suffered "very serious, permanent and irreversible damage to her brain." They recommend withdrawal of life-sustaining treatment and the provision of palliative care. Her parents reject that plan.

    I hope the Judge is familiar with the 2018 recommendations regarding the treatment and prognosis of severe brain injuries
