Barts Health NHS Trust seeks a judicial declaration that a transfer to Italy for aggressive intervention is not in Tafida's best interest.
In February 2019, clinicians determined that she suffered "very serious, permanent and irreversible damage to her brain." They recommend withdrawal of life-sustaining treatment and the provision of palliative care. Her parents reject that plan.
